Freelance Historian
Owen has been fascinated by history since first watching the film Zulu as a child on VHS. He has gone onto to study War Studies and History at King's College, London, graduating in 2018. He currently works as a freelance history studying the lives of child soldiers in the British Army. His first book Boys in Redcoats: The Boy Battalions of the British Army 1797-1815 is due to be released in winter of 2026.
In addition to Owen's own research he also has also served as Membership Secretary for the Waterloo Association since 2017 and is an Editor on the Napoleon Series website.

Documentary Making
Since 2008 Owen has both worked and volunteered in a range of roles in the media industry, including VFX artist and promotional film maker. Taking these skills Owen is starting to produce a range of documentaries examining historical episodes and bringing previously understudied characters to light.

Writer
In addition to non-fiction Owen has a interest in creative writing and producing fictional stories. Themes he likes to explore include humanity and the natural world and historical settings. Keep an eye out for more first stories coming soon.
